As a founding board member of Young Artists International, Leo Frankel was a great supporter of classical music and young artists. Leo Frankel Memorial Award Fund was established in November 2002. It is our aspiration that through this Fund the legacy of Leo’s love for music will continue to support the most outstanding and deserving young artists of this generation. Since, 35 musicians were recipients of the fund awards. Leo’s son, Nathan, continues in his father’s steps as a board member of Young Artists International and is ardent supporter of the arts.
Young Artists International discovers and supports young talents, age 18-28, securing a future generation of artists who will pass on the traditions of the great musicians of all time and will be the standard bearers for classical music in the 21st century. Through its acclaimed annual International Laureates Festival and the Benefactors Concert Series, YAI provides performance exposure for some of the world’s greatest musical talents, promoting their careers while providing audiences with a memorable and unique experience. More information can be found online at www.ipalpiti.org.
Sotheby’s is proud to support the progress of Young Artists International by generously sponsoring tonight’s event. As one of the world’s foremost authorities on musical instruments and manuscripts, Sotheby’s continues to promote classical music and the artists who bring it to us.
