Known for her expressive musicality and rich, warm sound, the young concert harpist Grace Cloutier, who trained at The Juilliard School, Yale University and in France, gave her solo début and encore solo recital at Carnegie Hall (2006, 2008) as first prize winner of the International Competition of Artist International Presentations. The New York Concert Review hailed her as, “an accomplished, poised, self-assured performer…her affinity for these works was natural and complete…[her] playing was dreamy, poetic and colorful…evoking all the colors of the rainbow with scintillating effect.”

As a founding board member of iPalpiti Artists International, Leo Frankel was a great supporter of classical music and young artists. Leo Frankel Memorial Award Fund was established in November 2002. It is our aspiration that through this Fund the legacy of Leo’s love for music will continue to support the most outstanding and deserving young artists of this generation. Leo’s son, Nathan, continues in his father’s steps as a board member of iPalpiti Artists International and is ardent supporter of the arts.

February 16-18, 2010 iPalpiti performs in the Bay Area As featured artists at ASTA (American String Teachers Association) National Conference Thursday, February 18, 8 pm Mission City Ballroom Santa Clara Convention Center

Tickets are $20 each. General attendees not registered for the conference can purchase tickets to the concert at the ASTA registration desk during open hours, or 30 minutes prior to start of concert at the door.

For this short tour, iPalpiti will feature 18 musicians ( representing 14 countries from Argentina to Estonia to Azerbaijan) as a chamber orchestra, under Maestro Eduard Schmieder, with a program of Piazzolla Four Seasons, Haydn’ Divertimento for solo cello, and other short pieces.

A rare opportunity to hear four rising soprano stars in entertaining program from arias to American standards as solo, duos, and quattros.

Angie Solomon, Xiaobo Su, Yun-Ju Lai, and Jacquelynne Fontaine

with pianist Shawn Kirchner

 

Crowned Miss California in 2006, Jacquelynne Fontaine earned her Bachelor's degree at California Lutheran University and her Master's from the USC Thornton School, where she is a DMA candidate.

A recent transplant from the Midwest, Angie Solomon completed her Master's degree at the University of Missouri and debuted with Kansas City Lyric Opera.

Mozart Festival first-prize winner and Opera Buffs' laureate Xiaobo Su is in the USC Thornton School graduate program.

Yun-Ju Lai earned her Bachelor's degree at Taipei National University, her Master's at University of Texas, and her Doctorate from the University of Michigan.
