Violinist Eduard Schmieder & Friends
Born and educated in Russia, Eduard Schmieder has been characterized as an “extraordinary musician.” A distinguished Algur H. Meadows Professor, he has performed in the world’s major concert halls as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor, and teaches an internationally selected violin class.
Cellist Nathaniel Rosen gained American recognition upon winning the 1977 Naumburg Competition, and international stardom the following year when he became the only American cellist ever to win the Gold Medal at the Tchaikovsky International Competition.
Dame Diane Andersen referred to as “Grand Lady of Belgian piano playing” by the international press, has been playing with renowned orchestras and conductors like Boulez and Sawallisch, and collaborated with distinguished musicians such as Kodaly and Gertler (friend and duo partner of Bela Bartok). Among her many international awards are Grand Prix du Disque and “Cannes International Classical Music Award” 2003 for her Adolphe BIARENT CD.
