As a founding board member of Young Artists International, Leo Frankel was a great supporter of classical music and young artists.  The Leo Frankel Memorial Award Fund was established in November 2002.  It is our aspiration that through this fund the legacy of Leo’s love for music will continue to support the most outstanding and deserving young artists of this generation.  Since its inception,
35 musicians have been recipients of the fund awards.  Leo’s son, Nathan, continues in his father’s steps as a board member of Young Artists International and is an ardent supporter of the arts.

Sotheby’s is proud to support the progress of Young Artists International by generously sponsoring this event.  As one of the world’s foremost authorities on musical instruments and manuscripts, Sotheby’s continues to promote classical music and the artists who bring it to us.
