Irakli Tsadaia was born into a musical family in Tbilisi, Georgia. His first music training started with Tamaz Batiaschwili and Konstantin Vardeli – both members of the Georgian States Quartet and teachers at the Tbilisi Conservatory. Since the age of eight he received regular lessons with Galina Turchaninova in Moscow and Germany, who also was the first teacher of Maxim Vengerov. In 1997, Irakli was accepted as a student at the Munich Conservatory, despite being only thirteen. While studying at the conservatory, he also attended the master classes of Alexander Brussilovsky, Boris Garlizky, Felix Andrievsky and Victor Tretjakov. In 2002 he continued his studies with Professor Victor Tretjakov at the “Hochschule für Musik Köln” (Cologne).
He received first prize at the music competition “Jugend musiziert” in Germany, diplomas at the Louis-Spohr International Violin Competition in Weimar (1999) and at the Paganini International Competition in Moscow (2006), and the 2nd prize at the International Violin Competition Valsesia Musica in Italy (2008). As a winner of a competition in the instrumental foundation of the “Hochschule für Musik Köln” that gives young musicians an opportunity to perform on high quality instruments, Irakli was awarded a G P. Maggini violin.
In 2007 he recorded a CD of Four Seasons by Astor Piazolla released by Sony BMG, performing as a soloist with “Kölner Klassik Ensemble.” Irakli has performed as a soloist and in chamber music with internationally known musicians and conductors such as Alexandre Brussilovsky, Ivan Monighetti, Ariel Zuckerman, Lev Markiz and Vakhtang Kakhidze. His concert performances of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, Introduction and Rondo- Capriccioso by Saint-Säens, Zigeunerweisen by Sarasate and the Four Seasons by Astor Piazolla were recorded for Radio and Television and broadcast on ARD, SWR, BR (Bayerischer Rundfunk), and in Tbilisi, Georgia.
